The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has raised the bar of the financial contributions of his church members saying that Tithe is meant for new Christians.
Adeboye said this in a viral video while apologising for saying that anybody who does not pay Tithe will not make heaven.
He said, “It is wrong to limit you to 10 per cent at a time when some of you should be paying 20 per cent, 30 per cent, or 40 per cent. 10 per cent should be for beginners..”
Tendering for saying that Christians that are not paying tithe will not go to heaven on Thursday while ministering at the ongoing youth convention of the church, Adeboye pointed out, “I am sorry for saying that if you don’t pay tithe you won’t go to heaven. That is not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, to follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man will make heaven. It is possible to be right and wrong at the same time. I will prove it to you. For years, we taught that light travels in a straight line. Later we say it travels in waves.”
