As submission of applications for the vacant position of Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan (UI), closed for qualified aspirants on Thursday August 19, 2021, the institution has sought for applications from qualified members of the academic staff to serve as Senate Representatives on the search team for other qualified candidates that did not apply.
PrimeStarNews gathered that virtually all the previous aspirants reapplied for the position.
According to a special release signed by the Registrar of the Premier University, Olubunmi O. Faluyi, the nominations for Senate Representatives on the Search Team for the appointment of the next Vice-Chancellor is in pursuant to the provisions of the relevant Act of the University.
The release stated that specifically, the Act provided for: “Two members of the Senate who are not members of Council, one of whom shall be a Professor.”
