The Governing Council of the University of Ibadan (UI) on Tuesday October 27, 2020, shortlisted six candidates out of the 18 vying for the position of the 13th Vice Chancellor of the Premier University.
PrimeStarNews reliably gathered that the shortlisted candidates are: Professors Babatunde Lawal SALAKO, Femi MIMIKO, Ebenezer Olatunde FAROMBI, Kayode Oyebode ADEBOWALE, Adeyinka Abideen ADERINTO and Olusegun George ADEMOWO.
The Selection Board is expected to interview the shortlisted candidates and present a report at Council meeting for consideration.
The outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka from Geology Department, who assumed office on December 1, 2015, is expected to hand over to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor on November 30, 2020.
Other candidates in the race were: Professors Tal-hatu Kolapo HAMZAT, Aderemi RAJI-OYELADE, Hassan Ajisafe SALIU, Oladele Olatunde LAYIWOLA, Raheem Adebayo LAWAL, Clement Olusegun Olaniran KOLAWOLE, Emiola Oluwabunmi OLAPADE-OLAOPA, Olatunde Rom KALILU, Hakeem FAWEHINMI, Temitope Oluwagbenga ALONGE, Babatunde Lateef ADELEKE and Anthony Kayode ONIFADE.
