As part of the process of selecting the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), on September 17, 2020, the 18 applicants for the position of VC will interact with members of the University community to shed light on how they will run the Premier University for the next five years if elected.
The event tagged “UI Community Forum 2020: Voice of next Vice-Chancellor 2020” is jointly organised by the five Campus Unions – the Student Union (SU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The candidates who are all professors are: Femi MIMIKO, Hassan Ajisafe SALIU, Babatunde Lawal SALAKO, Oladele, Olatunde LAYIWOLA, Raheem Adebayo LAWAL, Clement Olusegun Olaniran KOLAWOLE, Emiola Oluwabunmi OLAPADE-OLAOPA, Olatunde Rom KALILU, Tal-hatu Kolapo HAMZAT, Hakeem FAWEHINMI, Ebenezer Olatunde FAROMBI, Temitope Oluwagbenga ALONGE, Adeyinka Abideen ADERINTO, Olusegun George ADEMOWO, Babatunde Lateef ADELEKE, Kayode Oyebode ADEBOWALE, Aderemi RAJI-OYELADE, Anthony Kayode ONIFADE.
The town-hall meeting which would not be held at the Trenchard Hall of the University as was the tradition because of the COVID-19 restrictions, would be a virtual event on Zoom and will be transmitted on Diamond FM, Facebook, and YouTube from 10 a.m.
