The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday October 13, 2020, presented Certificates of Return to Ondo State governor and governor-elect, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, after he emerged winner of the October 10 governorship election in the state.
The certificates were presented to the governor and his running mate, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who were accompanied to the INEC office by their wives and party Leaders.
INEC had declared Governor Akeredolu winner of the governorship election having polled a total vote of 292,830 to defeat his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede SAN, who polled 195,791 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Akeredolu, who said the victory at the election belong to the people of the state, assured them that his administration will ensure equal development in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
