In a moving tribute on Facebook, one of his friends, Ayomide Bariwhite Akintobi wrote:
“The last time I saw you was when you were leaving Kenneth Mellanby Hall for Ogun State about two months ago after the second semester examinations. I shook hands with you and I said “goodbye the Law”. I didn’t know the “goodbye” meant till we meet again. I prayed several times in my heart that we could share the same room together next session. Maybe in the next world we have always heard about. You were a great inspiration to me and you knew it! You were one of the reasons I always visited A69. I always refered to you with great aplomb and enthusiasm. But having to say “till we meet again” has brought tears out of the eyes. You would have made it has the best student of your set and even gotten another first class at the Nigerian School of Law, but with great regrets, death has carted it off. What a life we live in!
“Justice Ilepe, thanks for the lives you touched and the minds you lifted both and the Faculty of Law and Mellanby Hall. We were always proud as Mellanbites to talk about you. You had a great future ahead. I had always imagined congratulating you when you are living UI for outstanding excellence and the “can’t beat” intelligence. I still sighted you as an example yesterday while trying to motivate a young lad. I didn’t know a tragedy already struck. I was not aware that a motivation to many others had crepted into the soil. Many of us met you on Campus and the times we spent together were always thought to be a point of reference for future lighter mood discussions. You remain in our hearts Ilepe. I pray the Lord gives your parents the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May your soul receive solace in the bosom of the Almighty. Sleep on till we meet to part no more ILEPE TIMILEHIN VICTOR!”
My dear friend, classmate, adviser, I never knew you would be gone so fast. May your soul rest in peace. I will miss you.
It is very sad. May his soul find rest.
