The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced the evacuation and arrival of 331 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to NIDCOM, the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja today, Friday August, 7 2020, around 2:24 pm local time via Emirates Airline.
This brings the number of evacuees from the UAE to a total of 2,042.
The Commission confirmed that all the evacuees tested negative to Coronavirus and will proceeded on 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
In a tweet, the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said, “More return home from the UAE . There will be a couple of more flights from the UAE as the mission is working towards beating the Aug 17 deadline given by the country for all illegal residents to leave”.
