A 68 year old woman has successfully delivered a set of twins at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Tuesday April 14, 2020.
In a statement by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of LUTH, Prof. Wasiu Adeyemo, the woman was pregnant for the first time in her life through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and the babies (a male and a female) were delivered through caesarean session.
According to Prof. Adeyemo, “this is the first in LUTH, Nigeria and Africa!”
The elated new parents and the babies are doing fine.
