The emergence of Oba Olakulehin as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland follows the demise of the late Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade Il.
As the news of the death of the late Oba Balogun was confirmed, in the usual practice, the palace drummers and chanters relocated from Alli-Iwo to the Ita Baale palace of Oba Olakulehin, heralding his symbolic ascension to the throne.
The drummers were beating the drums to congratulate the new monarch on the ascension to the throne of his father.
In line with the tradition, the next in line to Olakulehin is the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, who heads the civil line as Otun Olubadan of Ibadan.
