Members of Raphael Catholic Church, Police Barracks, Garki, Abuja in collaboration with some policemen yesterday arrested a suspected terrorist for attempting to wreak havoc on the church premises.
According to a video clip trending on social media, the terrorist came to the church in a Peugeot 407 with registration no. BWR 417 HF, shortly after the Sunday service.
An unidentified lady, who narrated what happened stated, “This is just happening now, Sunday July 3, 2022. A terrorist entered my church Raphael Catholic Church, Police Barracks, Garki, Abuja. He dressed up covering his face and had face cap on his head and dark shade. We asked him to stop but he refused. He drove to where men were having a meeting. When we saw what was happening, we shouted to the people in the church to come out. They stopped him. He said he was here to see somebody. They always have a pointer in the church. They invited the guy he claimed he wanted to see but the guy said that he did not know him. After much interrogation, he said, he was from Abia State. Where in Abia, he could not say. He also said that part of his relations are from Ethiopia. We now asked him why he dressed the way he dressed. At that point, he started saying that he would call the Inspector General of Police (IGP). In this barrack, we have those working with IGP. We have the PPRO of FCT. They checked the care and found somethings. They also found drugs in the car. We are just being careful now. Catholic Church is now their target. Please, I beg, all Catholic members, tighten up your security. Let us not take anything for granted. He is current being detained at Garki Police Station.”
