Nollywood actress, Adejumoke Oreoluwa Aderounmu, popularly known for her role as ‘Esther’ in popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary by Funke Akindele, is dead.
It was gathered that the 40-year-old actress died in the early hours of Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Adejumoke Aderounmu was born on March 26, 1984 and passed away on Saturday.
The cause of her death was yet to be made public as of the time of filing this report.
However, according to information available on social media, a funeral service has since been held for Aderounmu Adejumoke at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro area of Abeokuta in Ogun State.
Aderounmu attended St Banerdettes private schools Ibara Abeokuta, Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School Onikolobo Abeokuta before proceeding to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
She served one year of national service at Gomber State.
She was also certified in Film Making and Acting from the La CinéFabrique multimédia in Lyon, France in 2017 after she won a Ford Foundation scholarship at the African International Film Festival at her completion of a DSLR Film Making Training For Young Nigerian Film Makers in 2016.
She began acting professionally after auditioning for Tunde Kelani for the movie Arugba in 2008 where she played the role Princess Mobandele alongside Bukky Wright, Bukola Awoyemi, Segun Adefila, and more.
Adejumoke gained recognition in 2016 for her leading role as Esther (small but mighty) in a comedy TV series, titled, Jenifa’s Diary.
Adejumoke has over 10 movies (English/ Yoruba) to her credit as an actress.
She worked as an on-air personality at Goldmyne Entertainment and Presenter for a Box Office TV show under Daniel Ademinokan in 2010/2011.
She worked at Concert Radio (an online Radio station in Nigeria) from 2012 until 2015, then she proceeded to produce the first season of her TV show titled The Lounge with Jumoke, an entertainment show featuring celebrity interviews and fashion opinions, in 2012
