Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured that the abandoned Akobo-Ojurin-Olorunda-Aba road in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State would be re-awarded in the next four to six weeks, stressing that construction would commence after the raining season.
Makinde, who stated this today while featuring on a television programme, also condemned the construction of the road from Idi-Ape to Islamic High School, Bashorun.
According to him, the contractor, who handled the road project did a substandard work adding that the road from Idi-Ape to Islamic High School was poorly executed.
He condemned the contractor the previous administration awarded the road construction to for messing up the project saying that the contractor did not justify the money he collected from the government to execute the project.
He said, “I know how the road is. I always pass through the road to my house at Kolapo Ishola Estate. I assure that Akobo-Ojurin road will be re-awarded in four to six weeks”.
