The American Police has revealed that it has arrested about 82 rioters that were involved in the the protests on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Capitol Building in Washington DC.
According to REUTERS, Capitol Police claimed that it had arrested 14 rioters and the Metropolitan Police Department had arrested least 68 persons.
The police declared it would arrest all rioters that could be identified to have been involved in the crisis, adding that most of the suspects were arrested either on or near to Capitol grounds or close to the White House and Lafayette Square.
The rioters were alleged to have looted during the protest. The FBI has been asking the public to submit tips to help it identify and track down suspects.
It was alleged that the USA outgoing President, Donald Trump incited the rioters at a rally tagged “Save America’ Rally where the president told his supporters to stop the stealing of the election, urging them to go to the Capitol to demonstrate against Congress certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
