Some young men, who identified themselves as members of the Ekiti State Western Nigeria Security Network, (WNSN), codenamed Operation Amotekun on Sunday March 15, 2020 arrested two robbers at Point of Sale (POS) in Ilupeju Ekiti.
According to information obtained on Twitter from Ekiti Progress, the robbers took to their heels when they heard that members of Amotekun in the town had mobilised themselves to effect their arrest.
The robbers fled through Oye – Ayegbaju – Ifaki road but were later caught at the point of entry in Ifaki Ekiti, where they were thoroughly beaten and stripped naked.
The robbers were later brought back to Ilupeju, the scene of the robbery, where they were handed over to the police, who whisked them away.
