Notable and senior members of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), have called on the residents of Lagos State not to vote for the joint ticket of Abdul-Azeez Adediran/Funke Akindele of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the duo do not have what it take to govern Lagos.
Among the veteran actors and actresses against Funke Akindele, one of them and Jadon are, Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello, Jide Kosoko, Taiwo Hassan, also known as Ogogo, Yinka Quadri, Funke Daramola-Salako and Remilekun Oshodi popularly called Remi Surutu.
Funke Akindele’s colleagues, however, pleaded with the Lagosians to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of All Progressive Congress (APC) and other APC candidates contesting in the forthcoming election.
The ANTP members noted that Lagos State is too complex for unmarried individuals to manage, stressing that Adediran, popularly called Jandor and Funke should first marry before considering contesting for governorship and deputy governorship of the state.
The veteran actors and actresses said, “Funke has no husband. Jandor does not have a wife. Tell them, let them quickly marry and stop deceiving Lagos people.
According to them, PDP and their candidates have nothing good to offer Nigerians.
They pleaded with the Lagos residents to collect their voter’s card and use it to vote for APC.
Daramola-Salako said, “Go and get your PVC and vote for APC. Vote for the APC governorship candidate, presidential candidate and everyone contesting under the platform of APC because it is only APC that can do it. Don’t lose your vote. Vote for APC only. It is the only party that can do it.”
In the same vein, Surutu said, “Go and collect your PVC and during the election, vote for APC candidates. In the incoming election, it is only APC that can do it. We should vote for APC candidates alone. Go and take your PVC.”
