Dare devil armed robbers invaded the areas surrounding Queen’s School, Apata, Ibadan in the early hours of Friday, injuring some security guards in the area, with one of them killed.
It was gathered that the robbers went from house to house in the area and attempted to invade the boarding house of Queen’s School around 1am but the security guard, Gafar Olayiwola, gallantly fought to prevent them from gaining access into the hostel.
He was shot in the head at the entrance of the hostel.
According to reports, the girls in the hostel were, however, unhurt and none of them was kidnapped.
Olayiwola has been buried this afternoon according to Islamic rites at his residence after his body was retrieved from the police.
It was gathered that the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has been informed of the development and armed policemen have been deployed to the school
