The President and Vice Chancellor, Babcock University (BU), Professor Ademola S. Tayo, has challenged Nigeria’s doctoral students to come up with research works tailored towards proffering solutions to the nation’s socio-political and economic challenges.
Tayo noted that the only way members of the academic community could be relevant to humanity is to carry out researches which would help the government in formulating policies for accelerating the development of the nation.
The Vice Chancellor stated this on Friday April 23, 2021 at the institution’s 11th Postgraduate matriculation ceremony.
According to him, 535 postgraduate students were matriculated, pointing out that all hands must be on deck in finding solution to the Nigeria’s myriad problems.
He urged the new students to shun corruption and other vices at all levels, which the school has zero tolerance for.
Speaking earlier, the Senior Vice President/Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Professor Philemon O. Amanze, assured the students of maximum support to excel in their academic pursuits.
He admonished them to take their studies very seriously so that in record time, they would graduate.
He pointed out that one of the strength of the institution is ensuring that students finish their programmes in record time.
