The 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Kayode Adebowale, has performed his first official task in office as he nominated six candidates for the available three positions of Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC).
The positions to be filled are: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships).
Two candidates were nominated for each office, out of which one will emerge after an election.
Professor K. O. Oluwasemire, of the Department of Soil Resources Management, Faculty of Agriculture, and Professor E. O. Ayoola, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, were nominated for Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
Prof. Aderonke M. Baiyeroju, Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine and Prof. D. A. Adeyemo, Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies, Faculty of Education were nominated for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
Prof. O. G. Arinola, Department of Immunology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Prof. Oluyemisi A. Bamgbose, Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law were nominated for Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships).
The Senate of the Nigeria’s Premier University will hold a special meeting and election to elect three out of the six candidates for the available positions on Thursday November 4, 2021 at 1.00 p.m. in the Adeoye Lambo Senate Chamber.
