The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Usman Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a seven year old girl in Bauchi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, in a statement on Friday, said a complainant reported that his seven-year-old daughter was defiled by one Usman Mohammed in his Tudun Salmanu, Bauchi house.
“On June 16, 2020 around 11am, one Hamza Idris of Tudun Salmanu Bauchi reported that on the same date around 10am, one Usman Mohammed, of the same address, had carnal knowledge of his daughter in his house.
“Upon receipt of the information, a patrol team attached to the division swung into action and got the suspect arrested and he equally confessed to the crime,” Wakili said.
He, added that, on June 10, around 10am, operatives attached to the command, following a tip-off, arrested one Abdullahi Muazu, 32, and Adamu Idris, 22, suspected to have “engaged themselves in sexual intercourse against the order of nature.”
The PPRO added that, upon investigation, they confessed to the crime and named members of their syndicate to include Alhaji Ahmed Azare (60), a lecturer attached to Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, Ishyaku Hassan (48), attached to Emirate Council Katagum, Babangida Hashimu (24), Kamal Ismail (22), Misbahu Ibrahim (24), and Sadiq Shehu.
According to him, operatives of the command swung into action and arrested the aforementioned suspects.
