In an intense encounter with bandits in Agwabi, Tombo Ward, Buruku Local Government Area, the men of the Benue State Police Command, through its Operation Zenda Joint Taskforce killed 12 bandits.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the bandits who set an ambush for the policemen on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, around 2am, were brought down by the policemen.
The statement stated, “After the exchange, 12 bandits were neutralised, while others escaped”, adding, “Tragically, during this operation, one member of the police team, Inspector Terfa Anyiatse sustained fatal gunshot injury, and eventually gave up the ghost.”
The statement stated further that further raids conducted around Daudu and Makurdi resulted in the recovery of 7 locally made pistols, 3 AK-47 rifles, the arrest of 5 suspected robbers, and 32 suspected cultists.
