Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor, has died in hospital after a two-year battle with leukemia.
This is coming a day after the death of Slumdog Millionaire actor, Irrfan Khan.
Kapoor, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and returned to India last September following treatment in New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Indian time, according to the statement.
He started his acting career from superhit film Bobby, opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973,and was known for his work in films like Bobby, Chandni, and Amar, Akbar and Anthony (1977).
The 67-year-old actor was a third generation actor of the Kapoor dynasty.
Rishi Kapoor is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir and daughter Ridhima.
Kapoor’s friend and legendary Indian Actor, Amitabh Bachchan, popular for the movie, Sholay, and other fans and family have taken to Twitter to mourn his passage.
