The lawmaker representing Bayo constituency at the Borno state house of assembly, Umar Jauro Audi, has died after a brief illness.
It was gathered that Audi was initially rejected at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital on Tuesday evening as the health workers insisted that there was no bed space.
He, however, died shortly after his family members prevailed upon the hospital authorities.
An eyewitness stated that, “He died shortly after they admitted him. His sample has been sent to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control to certify if the death has anything to do with COVID-19″.
The Commissioner ,Borno state Ministry of Women Affairs and social development, Zuwaira Gambo has commiserated with the people of Bayo Local Government and Borno state House of assembly over the demise of the lawmaker.
