In a bid to resolve the political imbroglio in the Republic of Mali, which has led to violent protests and many deaths, President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the Malian stakeholders to accept the proposals of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government to bring lasting resolution to the political situation in the country.
Buhari made this known on his Twitter page today.
Among the suggestions of the ECOWAS leaders are the consideration of the proposals for the reform of the Constitutional Court and the resolution of the issue of 31 seats at the National Assembly.
Buhari is of the opinion that compromise and concessions are necessary for a peaceful resolution of the current crisis in the country.
However, he pointed out that ECOWAS leaders have made good progress in bringing lasting resolution to the political situation in Mali.
