President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered his cabinet members to immediately leave the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja to their respective home states and do everything possible to douse the tension created in the country by the #EndSARS protesters.
Similarly, he directed both the soldiers and policemen to do everything within their power with reasonable force to stop the reckless looting and destruction of public and private properties.
According to a report from the Nation, they are to apply “moderate force”, when and where necessary.
It is gathered that the deployment of soldiers and policemen to douse tension was the agreement President Buhari reached with the ex-head of state and civilian presidents.
While giving the cabinet members marching order to their various states, they were told to inform members of their constituencies of the efforts of the Federal Government to meet the demands of the #EndSARS protesters.
Their responsibilities include the solicitation of the supports of the political figures, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders that can help in restoring peace back to the nation.
The federal ministers are already in their various states appealing to those that matter to give the nation’s democracy the peace it deserves.
