The Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly ordered the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC to suspend Channels Television.
In a post on Facebook, Sowore disclosed that the President made the order over the interviews with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and Naval Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi (Rtd.).
Sowore wrote: “Criminal Muhammadu Buhari reportedly orders NBC to go after Channels Television licence to be suspended by the Federal Govt of Nigeria over interview of Gov. Ortom and Retired Naval Commodore Kunle Olawunmi.”
“Reportedly Ordered for the arrest of Chamberlain Usoh, Co-Host on Sunrise Daily and his colleagues, anchors of the program at Channels.”
“They are to be brought to Abuja tomorrow! Let’s be vigilant and stand with these journalists. Muhammadu Buhari will be defeated and ultimately disgraced out of power.”
It would be recalled that Olawunmi on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 featured on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ breakfast programme where he said that Boko Haram terrorists mentioned names of current governors, senators and Aso Rock officials as sponsors during interrogation but President Buhari has demonstrated an unwillingness to go after the high-profile politicians for reasons best known to him.
