During his confession, Akinde disclosed that he had previously worked as a laborer at the construction site and later decided to break into the house after noticing it was unoccupied.
“I was in Mawuko when I passed by the house in Ajegunle, Itura Oluwa CDA. I had worked there during its construction. On January 30, 2025, I checked the place and saw that no one was around. Then, on the first of January, I returned and confirmed it was still vacant. I stole electric wires, aluminum, wall sockets, taps, and burglary-proof bars. Before carrying out the theft, I had actually been sleeping in the house for about 26 days,” he confessed.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
