Former Nigeria’s Vice President Atiku Abubakar and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections has announced that one of his sons has contacted coronavirus.
Atiku, in a five line tweet, who stated that relevant authorities have been informed, said that the son is already receiving treatment at Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja, asking Nigerians to remember him in prayer.
He tweeted, “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real”.
He also lauded the nation’s health workers on their efforts to combat the deadly virus.
“I join millions of other Nigerians to celebrate our health workers for their courageous work at this challenging time, and I urge ALL Nigerians to remain strong while we fight the scourge of this COVID -19 to the end”, he said.
