The Nigeria Centre for Decease Control, (NCDC) has declared that five new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria.
According to the agency, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja and Oyo State recorded three and two cases respectively.
With the new figure being released, Oyo State now has three cases, while Abuja has 14 cases.
Residents of Oyo State were shocked at the increase of the cases in the state as they called on the state government and Governor Seyi Makinde to step up action to stop the spread of the virus.
According to statistics from NCDC, as at 8pm on Saturday March 27, 2020, Nigeria now has a total of 70 cases. The break down reveals: Lagos 44, Ogun 3, Ekiti 1, Oyo 3, Edo 1, Bauchi 2, Osun 1 and Rivers 1.
Out of this number, three victims have been cured and discharged with one death.
