The Chief Magistrate of Ado-Ekiti Division, Mrs Adefumike Anoma, today, remanded one Taiwo Odetunde, 27, in a custodial centre for allegedly defiling two girls, who are aged 13 and 14 respectively on June 9, 2020.
Refusing to take the plea of the accused Anoma, ruled that the accused person be remanded pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The Prosecutor, Insp. Monica Ikebuilo told the court that the accused person deceived his victims, who are friends by promising to sow nose masks for them free of charge.
According to Ikebuilo, on getting to his house to collect the face masks, the accused person locked the door and threatened to kill them with a knife if they did not cooperate and have sex with him.
The Prosecutor averred that the offence contravenes Section 2(2) of Ekiti State Gender-Based Violence (Prohibition) Amended Law, 2019.
