Babcock University (BU), Ijebu-Ilisan, Ogun State, has put on holding the 2021 school resumption earlier scheduled in batches between January 10 to January 17, 2021, following the Federal Government directive that no school should be opened until after January 18, 2021.
According to a communique titled, “Babcock University Communique Students and Parents on New Date for Resumption”, and signed by the school’s Director, Communication and Marketing, Dr Joshua Suleiman, the institution has put on hold the resumption for now.
The statement reads, “Recall in our last correspondence to you dated December 14, 2020, fresh students were to resume in the university in three batches – from January 10, 2021 to January 14, 2021. Returning students were expected to resume in six batches – from January 17, 2021 to January 21, 2021.
However, a directive from the National Universities Commission on 23rd December 2020, in line with the directives from the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 related diseases, requested that all activities requiring large crowds such as classroom and hostel accommodation should be suspended and universities remain closed during this period until 18th January, 2021.
Consequently, Babcock University wishes to inform all parents and students to put on hold all travel arrangements for resumption for academic activities on campus until further pronouncement by the institution. This is to ensure the best for our parents to safeguard the health, interest and future of our students”.
