As residents of Oyo State are becoming apprehensive at the high level in which Coronavirus is spreading, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has revealed that as of Saturday June 13, 2020, the state has recorded 491 cases as at the time of filing this report.
Makinde stated that the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 22 suspected cases came back positive adding, “The cases are from Oluyole, 6, Lagelu, 4,, Ibadan South East, 3, Ido, 2, Ibadan South West, 2, Ibadan North West, 2, Ibadan North, 1, Egbeda, 1 and Akinyele, 1, Local Government Areas.
He urged that anyone, who has any strange fevers or sudden loss of taste/smell to visit the nearest community-based testing centre to get tested for COVID-19 adding, “The test is free”.
According to the data obtained from NCDC, while the state has lost seven people to the virus, 268 are currently on admission and 216 have been treated and discharged
