Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has given an update of Coronavirus in the state, saying that the virus has claimed the lives of 10 persons out of the total 1,264 confirmed cases in the state.
Among those that tested positive in the state are four prominent members of the state executive council, which include Oyo State Commissioner for Youth And Sports, Seun Fakorede, Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof Raphael Afonja and Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun.
Makinde stated, “Sadly, we had one COVID-19 related death. So, the number of deaths in Oyo State is ten”.
“169 confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 508”, he explained.
However, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that 748 patients are currently on admission and a total of 506 have been treated and discharged in the state.
