Residents of Oyo State have continued to be perturbed as the state is now among the first three in Nigeria with the highest patients of Coronavirus, as they appeal to the state government to address the situation before it becomes unmanageable.
The fear was expressed as the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde announced that cases in the state have hit 507.
The Governor said, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for sixteen suspected cases came back positive. The cases are from Ibadan North West (4), Ibadan North (3), Ibadan South West (3), Lagelu (2), Egbeda (2) and Itesiwaju (2) LGAs. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 507”.
Some residents, who did not want their names to be mentioned expressed that it is extremely risky for the state government to open schools on July 15 as earlier scheduled, adding that the health of the children should not be put at risk.
