South Africa’s Minister of Employment and Labour, Thembelani Thulas Nxesi, who reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 on July 17, 2020 has been admitted into hospital on Monday, July 20, 2020.
According to a statement from the Presidency, his admission to hospital comes on the advice of his medical doctors, in order for him to have access to better medical attention and proper monitoring.
Nxesi,61,who is currently serving as the Minister of Employment and Labour, previously served as the Minister of Public Works and Minister of Sport and Recreation.
He is the second member of Cabinet to be admitted to hospital after Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Mantashe.
