The Chief Medical Director (CMD), University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria, Professor Jesse Otegbayo has revealed that the hospital has attended to 10 patients of Coronavirus so far.
Otegbayo stated that out of these, six patients were managed as in-patients in the isolation unit and other locations in the Hospital, two of which were discharged after being declared free from the virus from results of investigations done and one patient was transferred to Lagos for further treatment.
He stated further that two deaths have been recorded adding, “There are two active confirmed cases of the virus being managed by Staff of the Hospital. one of these is on admission while the other is being managed at home. No new case has been reported in the last 48 hours”.
The CMD noted that the hospital would continue to render excellent care and services to both Covid-19 and non COVID-19 patients enjoining everyone to abide by the required hygiene standards such as regular hand washing, use of hand sanitisers and face masks.
