An unidentified woman, who had a test for coronavirus in Lagos and ran to Ibadan, capital of Oyo State has been tracked and taken to the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo.
Giving an update about the virus in the state, Governor Seyi Makinde said, “The Emergency Operations Centre was able to track a Covid-19 positive case, following an alert from Lagos State. The patient had a test in Lagos but came to Ibadan while waiting for the result”.
“The result has been recorded as a Lagos State case but the patient, a woman, has been taken to the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo”, Makinde explained.
However, reactions trailing this incident condemned the woman for attempting to endanger the lives of people.
Akanni Sulaimon A. on his twitter page said, “How on earth will you travel to endanger more lives knowing you’re carrying this deadly virus?” He advocated for a stiff punishment for the woman.
Adediran Alao said, “Why is Oyo so easy to gain access to whilst Osun isn’t? You may need to check the activities of the so called security agencies manning our entry points. Our state seems to be dumping ground at the moment”.
