The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa has congratulated Professor Charles Egbu on his recent appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University, East London, UK.
Dabiri-Erewa in a statement signed NIDCOM Spokesperson, Gabriel Odu stated that Professor Egbu is the first black person to achieve this historic feat as Vice Chancellor of the institution.
He has authored over 12 books and over 350 publications in reputable International journals.
“The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and the good people of Nigeria are proud of your achievements”, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said.
According to a statement obtained on the University’s website, Egbu is taking over from Margaret House, who managed the institution for seven years as a Vice Chancellor.
Reacting to his appointment, Egbu said that he was honoured with the appointment, pointing out that he was looking forward to returning to Leeds as well as to engaging with students, colleagues and alumni.
