The District Superintendent, Apostolic Faith Church West and Central Africa, Rev. Isaac Adigun, today, notified the church that the Superintendent General of the church worldwide, Rev Darrel Lee would visit Nigeria from the United States to attend the ongoing WECA Camp Meeting in Nigeria.
Adigun revealed this after welcoming the congregants to this year’s Camp Meeting.
In his sermon, Adigun set a standard for the church pointing out that it is time the church went back to the faith of their fathers and begin serving God the way their fathers in faith served God.
According to him, henceforth, hypocrisy, the desecration of the holy things of God and unholy worship would not be tolerated in the church.
Setting the new standard to justify why the church needs revival, Adigun stated, “We need revival at a time when a church has become a ground for entertainment. We need revival at a time when the altar of God is now used for comedy. We need revival at a time when passion for souls has been replaced with fashion parades in the church. We need revival at a time when motivational speaking has replaced biblical teaching. We need revival at a time when you really cannot differentiate between a daughter of Zion and harlots. We need revival at a time when fashion and grooming have replaced the beauty of God’s glory. We need revival at a time when sexual sin is referred to as weakness and the grace of God is taken for granted. We need revival at a time when the church does not know the difference between the witchcraft spirit and the Holy Spirit. We need revival at a time when sinners feel comfortable in our churches and saints feel no sense of urgency to witness to the lost. We need revival at a time when the word of God is scarce and the fire on the altar is going out and the priests have become blind, the watchmen sleeping and holiness is no longer our standard. We need revival. We need reawakening. We need a revival of our souls. We need a new awareness of the power of God. We need the Lord to open our eyes, so that we may see him. We need a genuine outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We need another Pentecost.”
Adigun also highlighted what the church does not need. He said, “We don’t need another noise. I am not saying the noise of prayer, we want that but not just noise. We need a shaking, a mighty rushing wind. There is no other desire that we have than to hear again the same voice that spoke in the valley of dry bones to bring us back to life. In this camp meeting, may the words of God that will come out prophesying over all the dry bones, dry bones present, dry bones virtual. May God cause breath to enter into all dry bones and make them live again, make them to stand and be like a great army in Jesus’ mighty name.”
“We don’t want to pretend anymore, enough of pretence. This is a serious camp meeting. It is a camp meeting of restoration. It is a camp meeting of God himself coming down to do great things that we have never experienced before. We want to activate that power of God and He will reawaken us. This camp meeting is dedicated as a special time to prevail and to pray until answers come. And, hallelujah, God hears effective, fervent and intense prayer that is coming from the heart. He will answer our cries as He answered Habakkuk. In the end, Habakkuk testified that his joy is in the Lord. This will be our testimony. In the end, he said, my soul, will rest in the day of trouble.”
