Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, today declared that all schools, both public and private in the state, will remain closed until Sunday, 31st May 2020.
Governor Okowa made this pronouncement today as part of follow-up to the speech of President Muhammadu Buhari in regards to effort to combat coronavirus in the country.
He stated that, effective from Thursday, 30th April 2020, the use of face-mass has become compulsory public places, which include offices, markets, malls, supermarkets, salons, hospitals and health clinics, churches, mosques, and all other ‘approved’ gatherings.
The governor also placed a ban on all conferences, sporting activities, gathering of people in convention/event centres, sports fields, public/open spaces, as well as recreational and cultural/communal activities until 31st May 2020.
In addition, cinemas, bars and night clubs, and all religious crusades/conventions are also to remain banned.
