Parts of Accra and Kasoa and its environs in Ghana experienced earth tremor some minutes to 11:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
The tremor of unknown magnitude affected areas including Abelemkpe, Dansoman, Achimota, Kaneshie, McCarthy Hill, Weija, Mile 11, Mandela and adjoining areas.
Some residents in the affected areas took to social media to share their experiences, with some saying they experienced the tremor twice.
Meanwhile, within the last 48 hours, several parts of the world have experienced earthquakes and earth tremor. These include:
*A 7.4 magnitude powerful earthquake that struck Mexico’s southern Oaxaca region on Tuesday, killing at least five people and shaking buildings hundreds of miles away
*A 6.0-magnitude earthquake that rocked New Zealand on Wednesday. The quake struck 40km west of popular tourist destination Milford Sound, on the south west of the South Island. As many as 3,000 people reported feeling the strong tremor, with some as far away away as Wellington, on the lower North Island.
*A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit California around 10:45 a.m. local time Wednesday. The epicenter was near Cartago, about 180 miles north of Los Angeles.
