The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrested two suspected cultists for attempting to murder a rival cult member, Egiegbor Lucky, 29, in Irrua community, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Command spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu confirmed that the suspects, Aigbomian Daniel, 20, and Innocent Okiomisi, 32, members of Eiye Confraternity, are currently in police custody.
The suspects, who confessed during interrogation to the police that they are members Eiye Confraternity were said to have trailed and shot at the victim on January 14 but narrowly escaped death and he reported the incident to the police.
Yamu said, ““I can confirm to you that the suspected cultists were arrested and are in police custody. During interrogation, they confessed to being members of cult groups. One locally made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from the suspects, and they will be charged to court soon.”
