The outgoing governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), exercised his franchise around 1:45pm today, in the ongoing 2024 governorship election in Edo State.
After casting his vote for his preferred candidate, Obaseki said, “I have just cast my vote at my Polling Unit, Oredo Ward 4 Unit 19. I am pleased with the efficiency at my unit and it is my hope for the same across the State.”
The governor urged all Edo residents who are yet to exercise their civic duty to do so.
Obaseki, however, expressed optimism that if the process continued the way it was going, the candidate of his party would emerge victorious.
He said, “I am confident our party’s candidate will win the poll if the process is not rigged. From the report we have been receiving since shows that the exercise is peaceful. We haven’t received any bad news so far.”
