Three years ago, the social media was awashed with the #SaveNiyi campaign on behalf of Kolawole Olaniyi Emmanuel, a part 4 Law student of Ekiti State University who was diagnosed with lymphatic Cancer and Hepatitis B in August 2016 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
At the time, he needed the sum of 3 million Naira for chemotherapy, treatments and dialysis to help save his liver and stop the cancer from spreading to other organs of his body.
Some of his friends who formed the #SaveNiyi team were: Akinwumi Sehinde Sahar, Shobukola Supo, Taiwo Michael Sunday, Victor Agboola, Kemi Yussuf, Osakwe Ruth, Tochi Eluchie, Segun Aladetimi, Adaeze Anamemene, Temitope Adeshina, Kosoko Ayuba, Ruth Sebastian, Okafor Vivian and Adedamola Thomas.
However, today the story has changed as Olaniyi Kolawole survived the ordeal and has passed his Law examination.
He took to his twitter page to show gratitude to God for healing and success and also to thank his friends and everyone who stood by him throughout the period of his ordeal.
He said, “I’m currently emotional right now, 3 years ago the cyberspace was awash with the #saveniyi. Yes, that was me down with Lymphatic Cancer. Fast forward to today, the bobo passed his #barfinals. All glory to God the giver of life, and you guys”.
In another post, he specially thanked his friend, “For your support all the way. May God bless you guys massively. Special regards to my buddy @israeloflife. Dude bought all my law school textbooks for me. Meanwhile, you can address me as O. E Kolawole Esq. It’s all God’s grace”.
Niyi is currently on admission in LUTH. No amount is too little to save his life. Here is his gofundme link: https://t.co/yCNjKBVC3S pic.twitter.com/rWJSAclW9T
