Counting of ballot papers in the 2023 Governorship and State Assembly Elections have begun nationwide in Nigeria.
The declaration of results in the polling units across Nigeria has been stirring surprises as candidates are losing in their units and strategic places.
For instance, with 29 votes, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of All Progressive Congress (APC), beats the Labour Party candidate in the Lagos State governorship election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour in unit, who scored 18 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party’s Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, polled two votes.
However, Sanwo-Olu with 121 votes trashed his two major opponents, Adediran and Rhodes-Vivour who scored one and two votes respectively.
Dramatically, Governor Seyi Makinde is stated to have won the the nation’s Premier University, University of Ibadan (UI).
While counting the ballot papers in UI, it is only Seyi’s name that was being called.
