As the #EndSARS protest has turned violent, the Ekiti State Government has order the closure of both government and public schools in the state.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Olubisi Aderiye, who revealed this in a press statement noted that said that the closure would be for the rest of the week.
According to the Commissioner, the closure has become necessary to safeguard the lives of the students, teachers and other staff, who are currently finding it difficult to get to schools due to the on-going protest in the state.
He, however, assured that schools would be reopened on Monday October 26, 2020.
