Former Beauty queen and wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, the head pastor of Trinity House Church, Ibidun Ajayi Ighodalo, has died.
She was 39 and was to mark her 40th birthday on Sunday, July 19.
According to report, the former Miss Lux died of Cardiac Arrest in her hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers state today June 14.
Ibidun had been travelling around the country building covid-19 isolation centres before her sudden demise.
“The Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families are deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our beloved wife and daughter Mrs. Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo who passed away in the early hours of today,” a statement from the Ighodalo family read
Until her death, she ran the popular events company, Elizabeth R and had been traveling around the country building COVID19 Isolation centres.
She left Lagos for Port Harcourt on Friday June 12th for work. Ibidun also helped many couples who were finding it difficult to have children through her foundation.
Ibidun attended K-Kotun Memorial Primary School, in Surulere, Lagos. And from there, she proceeded to Federal Government Girls College, Oyo and later University of Lagos, where she read Microbiology.
The fifth of her parents’ eight children, she was Miss Lux in 1999 and currently runs Elizabeth R and Dorchester, both into events.
She married Pastor Ighodalo in 2007. The union was a controversial one as Pastor Ighodalo, then of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christ Church Parish, Gbagada, had divorced his first wife, Lucy-Ann Suinner.
The church was not happy with the situation and he was sacked. He went on to start his church called Trinity House Church.
In an interview she granted, Ibidun disclosed that she did IVF eleven times, adding that it was after the eleventh one failed that she told God ‘I am not doing this IVF again’.
But beyond vowing never again to try IVF, she equally heard a voice urging her to assist those without the financial muscle needed for IVF. Thus, her new foundation, Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, which has assisted some families to have children.
Ibidun is survived by her husband, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, the head pastor of Trinity House church, and their two adopted children, Keke and Zenan.
