Helen Prest-Ajayi, former Miss Nigeria 1979, has lost her husband, Dr Tosin Ajayi.
Dr Ajayi, MD/CEO First Foundation Medical Centre and MD/CEO Africa Future, died on Monday April 27 2020 in Lagos, but cause of death is unknown. He was said to have suffered ill health for sometime now.
He trained as a medical doctor at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, and holds a Masters of Science in Cardiology from the National Heart and Lung Institute, (NHLI) Imperial College, University of London.
On October 1, 2019, Ajayi launched a campaign, under the Africa Future, to create awareness of the need for proper nutrition among pregnant women and newborn babies.
According to him, the ultimate purpose of Africa Future is to bridge the developmental gap in Nigeria and Africa through the first 1,000 days from conception window. The idea is to use the first 1,000 days from conception to shape the future of our continent and the use of Information Technology tools around us to drive this change.
Dr Tosin Ajayi is survived by wife and children.
