A former Minister of Solid Minerals (Mines and Steel) and Education in Nigeria, Obiageli Ezekwesili, on Wednesday, January 4, 2022, described Nigeria’s 2023 budget as “hopeless” and tragic.
Ezekwesili, who made her position on the 2023 budget known on her Twitter page, decried the budget deficit and urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards and use them to vote out those who have destroyed the nation.
The former Vice president of the World Bank’s Africa region wrote, “This is the summary of the HOPELESS Budget @MBuhari signed into law yesterday:
“Total Expenditure is N21.83 trillion.
“Total Revenue N9.73 trillion!
“The Budget has a deficit larger than revenue by almost N12.00 trillion! Tragic.
“You all better get your PVCs ready because…”
