The Federal Fire Service Training School, Ilesa has collaborated with International Breweries Plc, Ilesa to observe and celebrate this year’s World Environment Day.
They join the rest of the world in the celebration of the 2020 World Environment Day, with theme “Biodiversity”.
According to the United Nations, recent events, from bushfires in Brazil, the United States, and Australia to locust infestations across East Africa – and now, a global disease pandemic – demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life, in which they exist.
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June every year, and is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
The Day serves as the ‘people’s day’ for doing something positive for the environment, galvanizing individual actions into a collective power that generates an exponential positive impact on the planet.
The Federal Fire Service Training School, Ilesa, is headed by the Commandant, Chief Superintendent of Fire (CSF) Kehinde Fatukasi.
