The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced the arrival of 247 Nigerians evacuated from Malaysia and Thailand.
According to NIDCOM, the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Lagos yesterday, July 11 2020, at 11:00 pm local time via Air Peace Flight APK-7813.
While some of the passengers disembarked in Abuja, the rest proceeded to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The evacuees included 3 Nigerians who were stranded in Thailand Airport for about 4 months.
Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, and Senior Special Adviser on Diaspora Matters to the President, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who revealed this stated on her Twitter page, “Recall the three Nigerians stranded in Thailand Airport for about 4 months? They are now on their way home along with 29 others from Thailand. Big gratitude to the Nigerian Amb to Thailand, Amb Bamalli, who took care of them all through and was at the airport to see them off”.
The Commission confirmed that all evacuees tested negative to Coronavirus and have proceeded on 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
